With the overall weight recorded averaging 58lb an angler - this match could be described as a good one!!
Alan Brand continued his run of form, with a section winning 49lb 2oz. Rodney Pook’s 59lb 6oz, was enough for a section win – his weight including 24lb of small chub.
Ian Chaplin managed 3rd with 65lb 2oz, before the weigh scales recorded Graham Dodd with a 105lb 12oz weight. “Ton plus” weights are not common on Bowsaw with the match record for the lake standing at 127lb - so for Graham’s weight to be only enough for second was an even greater surprise, as Richard Shillito fishing paste at 11 meters broke the venue’s lake record with a net busting 129lb 2oz, who was catching consistently from the start and never really looked back.
Remenham anglers were subjected to mixed weather conditions - this however did not deter the fish and most caught well on the day.
Graham Dodd took the honours in first place with 71lb 6oz of Carp fishing banded pellet, shallow at 7 meters with a marginal win over Alan Brand with 69lb 8oz fishing method feeder on the pole tight to island features. Third place went to Rodney Pook with 59lb 14oz fishing feeder to the island and section wins on the day went to Ade Bowles with 55lb 12oz and Trevor Pearce with 49lb 10oz
This match was won by Ade Bowles with 51lb 9oz fishing the Pole and Method feeder. Ade fished the pole for the first half of the match then switched to the Method feeder close to an island feature and caught mainly Carp with some Bream to make up his impressive weight on a difficult day as many of the fancied pegs failed to produce on the day.
Runner up was Roger Howard 30lb 10oz fishing method feeder to an island feature and third went to Alan Brand with 26lb 12oz switching between fishing pellet on the pole and the method feeder. Section wins went to Nigel Smith with 21lb. 12oz , Mark Bowles with 20lb10oz and Julian Fala with 16lb 2oz
Graham Dodd recorded his second win of the season in this close fought match in the Remenham Stillwater Series with an impressive 64lb 7oz which included 30lb Rudd and the rest Carp on the short pole fishing shallow with pellet and maggot.
Close runner up was Nigel Smith with 62lb 12oz .00lb of Carp fishing pellet, third place went to Ade Bowles with 58lb 12oz fishing his favourite Pellet & Paste methods.
Rodney Pook logs his second win and maximum points in the Remenham Stillwater Series with an impressive 74lb 6oz of Carp fishing his favourite method feeder, finishing well ahead of the rest of the field. Graham Dodd was runner up with 41lb 14oz fishing shallow pellet on the pole, third place went to Dick Shillitto fishing paste with 35lb 14oz which included a specimen carp of 13lb.
Section wins on the day went to Trevor Pearce with 26lb 7oz and Nigel Smith 33lb 7oz
Remenham's Stilwater Series 2nd match of the season was won by Rodney Pook with an impressive 84lb 2oz fishing the Method feeder. Rodney fished close to an island feature and caught mainly Carp with some Bream to make up his impressive weight.
Runner up for the second week running was Nigel Smith with 71lb 6oz fishing pellet on the Pole and third went to Richard Shillitto with 64lb 12oz fishing meat. Section wins on the day went Trevor Pearce with 37lb 12oz and Graham Dodd with 30lb 8oz.
Subjected to extreme weather conditions at Panshill Wood Fishery near Oxford last weekend, during the 6 hour competition, the heavens opened with torrential rain, then anglers basked in glorious sunshine and finally in the last hour, were pelted with hailstones. This however did not deter the fish and all caught well on the day.
Julian Falla took the honours in first place with 74lb 8oz of Carp fishing paste on the pole at 5 meters. Runner up was Nigel Smith with 67lb fishing pellet and third went to Rodney Pook with 57lb 6oz. Section wins on the day went Trevor Pearce with 44lb 4oz and Brian Bowles with 39lb 10oz.
